Not sure what year your E-class is. The central system is called the COMAND system for all infotainment functions, like stereo and navigation. The E350 was introduced in 2006, so I have attached the COMAND manual for that year. Here's the link to the manual: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalAssets/pdfmb/comandmanual/2006/MY 06-E-CLS.pdf Sounds like you're having a problem with the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that affects the COMAND system, as well as other electrical options such as door locks. Any recent water damage? Is the battery relatively new? Best to take it to a M-B dealer for diagnosis to be sure.

Your answer is helpful. I have similar problems with my E-320, 2005. The battery warning sign comes on telling me that I have to go to a workshop asap but then after a few hours or start-ups disappears. The V-Belt is perfectly ok and my brakes work fine. And yes, we had some heavy rain showers recently. I tried your link but it is momentarily not working! Any other link I could try? Or what else could I do other than going to Mercedes? Thanks, Ursula
