Pretty good overall and the hybrid version is very dependable.
Yes, I've owned two, one from each of the first two generations. They're excellent cars in so many ways. The 4 cylinder models 2006-2009 have a not-so-amazing Mazda automatic transmission that likes to be maintained well. The Aisin transmission in the 2006-2009 V6 models is excellent in comparison. The 6F35 transmission in the non-Sport variants of the 2010-2012 models is really hit or miss. They had some software issues in earlier years, mostly sorted out by 2012, but YMMV. The V6 models are NOT known for their fuel economy. Both of mine have been the 3.0 V6, in two different generations of the engine. The 2011's 3.0 was slightly more efficient and a significantly more powerful engine, but averaged about 21-22 mpg. The 4-cylinder in the 2010-2012 is really very good, smooth and relatively powerful. My strongest recommendation for reliability in a Fusion is to go with a 4-cylinder with a manual transmission (only available on the S trim, if I recall), or to go with a 2010-2012 Sport model with the 3.5L V6 and Aisin automatic, if fuel economy isn't the very top priority. You'll find the rest of the car, suspension, etc, is really very good.
No. My sister, her boyfriend and my close friend each have one. They've all had multitude of problems. Wheel bearings, water pumps, that terrible rack and pinion problem. Factory headlights melting factory harnesses, suspension issues. My friend's transmission just gave out this week, only 120k miles. Like it needs a serious overhaul and he's without a vehicle now. Everyone I've talked to who owns one says they've put too much money back into all while paying a note and are ready to see it go. Ignore the Ford fanboys and get anything else. Chevy, Toyota, Honda, you never hear horror stories about them.
NO problem after problem with mine! Only 71, 000 miles and bought it brand new but its been in the shop more than on the road

Hell naw...too many problems an Ford does not want to be responsible for it. The recalls an engine problems. I know I have a 2015 Ford Fusion 1.5 Ecoboost only had 2 years before all theses problems. Now need a new engine
DO NOT BUY A FORD FUSION! Ours is 2 years old and needs a $5k engine replacement. Ford refuses to fix it.
