Misleading Ads on Car Guru

Asked by GuruN9SJR Oct 08, 2019 at 11:07 AM

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Why does CarGuru place “Generic” photos
of vehicles on their site?  Buyers are lured to
contact dealers/sellers regarding vehicles
that don’t exist. This wastes our time and is
misleading advertising. It should not be done.

CG's does not make the ads since they don't sell cars. Most of the time the photos are labeled as a "stock photo". I can tell a generic photo from real 98% of the time just by looking.
