Question type: General

for the last 10 year I have been drive less than 2,000 mile a year. I drive my
current car about twice a week less than 20 miles each way.  I am thinking
about buying a use ev or hybrid.  But I have heard that the battery will
deteriorate since I will not be driving it enough. Is this true?

Either will work but if the car just sits in the garage for long periods of time an EV would make sense. If you don't have a garage where you can install a charger an EV is not the car to buy. Keep in mind that long trips with an EV can be a PITA if you have to wait for battery charging.

Thank you for your answer. OK, so battery deterioration is not a problem, You make an important point that I would need a charger. I live in a small 3 story condo do so that would not be practical. Looks like my best option is still a gas engine car.

Unless you can get the association to install chargers you are out of luck.
