how can i cheaply import a car from japan?

would it be cheaper to go there. party like a rockstar and return with the car?

You might not be able too - If the car is not up to US Emissions standards it will not be allowed into the country. Call an Importer and discuss your options with him - He will know the FED regulations and laws that govern such an undertaking - Good luck
