NO, THEY'RE NOT RECOMMENDED BY CONSUMERS REPORTS. They are very underpowered and don't have the features of the regular Prius. Plus , they are so small and cramped. If you really can't afford a new one, I would purchase a lease return, certified used car. In fact, you're going to save money buying a clean late model. Just make sure that you buy it from a new car dealership and get the extended warranty.
