Mine still has the original 229, will a small block 350 with shorty headers fit on the 229 mounts? No cutting!

Nobody can answer that without knowing the year and model car you have. If you are dropping in a replacement engine, go with new mounts anyways.

yes it would drop right in but i would replace the motor mounts if it was me and if it was mine i would put some biger tires on the back because you are gona get a lot of wheel spin we put a 454 in a 1986 elcameno

it will fit easy, they had a 350 option that year, shouldnt need new mounts
