when was the last time you tuned it up? like replacing the ignition components? Also check for vacuum leaks, you also might have an oil pump issue since the light is on. Check the oil pressure and oil sending unit.

so i just bought the car, at 60000 miles the previous owner put a brand new motor.and tranny in.it. and theres only 60000 new.miles put on.the new engine / tranny. i have receipts for a tune up and all that stuff.a few months before i bought her. . i was.told that the car.mainly has veen sitting in a garage before i bought her. i use it to go back and forth to work almost daily. the oil pressure.seams to be alright. its really wierd - if i tturn the car on and the low oil light is on - i just turn the car.off.and restart it and it normally isnt on the second time.
