Rear shocks switch off?

Can still drive the car a 2000 Grand Marquis
with the rear shock switch off without
damaging the car

Is this on a car with the air bag suspension. if so the switch is possibly the ride height if the lever is locked in position with the suspension raised up you can drive it but handling and ride willl change

Everytime I start the car you can hear the rear shocks inflate, I just wondered if I could turn off the switch without damaging the car
