Sounds like either idle air control valve is dirty/faulty or the throttle plate is dirty.

To check idle air control valve turn a/c on. Does it idle up some? Or turn steering wheel hard to the left. Does it idle up some? If not would suspect that the idle air control valve is either dirty or faulty.
