1994 B3000, step on brake,interior light comes on. also, fuel guage pegs at full when I turn the key on.

when I step on the brake the interior light come on, also the gas gauge goes to 1/2 full when the truck is Off and when i turn it on it pegs at full. it never goes down at all to tell say that the gas is lower than full. all the fuses are good. There was a after market 3rd brake light wired to the drivers side rear brake light but I took that off thinking that might be it, it was not it. Temp gauge always reads cold.  other than these problems it runs fine.

im guessing this is pretty rare or something. No one has even replied at all. still having the same issues. so frustrating.

I know one one guy who had a problem like this. It ended up being a bad ground located under the cab. If these items share a ground it doesn't hurt to check that out.

so many possibilities. hard to believe I have to track every one of them down. LOL I mean wow.. I hate to tear the whole thing apart but it;s looking like I will have to. wouldn't it be cool to find the first try, that never happens for me. tracking down electrical problems is such a huge drag. so far to get around this problem I put a 3 gallon gas can in the back, filled the gas tank to the top, set the mileage meter to trip dial to zero and drove it till it ran out of gas. 270 miles exactly, the truck would go no more. so i just fill it all the way when I get gas and reset that dial every time. I will keep doing this till spring I guess , it;s too damned cold to stand out there and trace wires right now. at least i know my range and have a fairly reliable way to measure it for now.
