I own a 81 Turbo Transam and the Mechanical Lift Pump has failed,I intend to convert this to an Electrical Fuel Pump,.Anyone have a suggestion as to a suitable pump and a regulator as well? Thanks

if you are concerned about a mechanical pump they all go out over time, every fuel pump does,i suggest something thats not "over kill" and that all depends on whether or not you bird's engine is stock or high performance. i can't say what brand of pump and regulator to use, its all on your preference but i can give you an idea about what you may need at wide open throttle (foot to the floor) an engine requires 1/2 lb. of fuel every hour per horsepower, and a gallon of gas weighs about 6 lbs. an example would be that if your engine makes 350 horsepower it will need a pump that provides at least (350 x 1/2) 175 lbs per hour or (175 divided by 6) 29 gallons per hour. in your case stock power ratings for your car are somewhere around 205 hp, so you would take 205 x 1/2 and that gives you 102.5 lbs per hour and to figure out gallons per hour take 102.5 and divide it by 6, that gives you around 17 gallons per hour about any regulator would be fine for your application, just as long as you can adjust it 5-10 psi, too much pressure and you will flood the carburetor i'm not for certain what the required fuel pressure is for your car due it being turbocharged, i would try to see if your local parts store or GM service shop could tell you factory fuel pressure for your car, hope this helps you out
