Subaru Ascent CVT problems

No way to know how new cars will age. Only time will tell. Apparently Subaru did finally add transmission cooling to the Ascent which is a step in the right direction.
Just had my 2019 transmission replaced
I just had my 2019 towed to the dealership for what will probably be a transmission replacement.
Just had my 2019 ascent replaced with a new transmission 2 weeks ago and it still doesnt feel right even with the new part.
I’ve had mine less than a year and it needs a new transmission- kicker Apparently there are so many others that need new transmission, Subaru is having a difficult time finding one for my car!
Our new Subaru Forester has CVT problems. It misfires, shudders etc. Tynan say (compared to similar vehicles) our Forester is normal. We’ve written to Subaru in Sydney, so far no reply. Not happy

Our Ascent, purchased new, at approx 5,000 miles; frequently pauses with a brief squealing sound followed by lunge/shudder forward. Taken to dealer but could not replicate, unfortunately, with me driving, & they performed a software update. Very Unfortunately now experiencing the same performance. Absolutely no doubt there is a transmission problem. Very discouraging.
My exact same problem. They had it for 3 weeks in August and could not duplicate the probe after driving it over 100 miles. Gave it back to me. Wednesday it would not start. Waited about 4 hours for Subaru road side service to come. Jumped it and it started but had it towed to dealership. Recorded the screeching noise so they could hear. They said it was my tires squealing . I said Nope. They called Friday to say its. Transmission problem(really!!??) they want to replace the transmission!! I do not want the car back because there have been numerous other issues. Bought in March ..has 6700 miles in it.
We purchased a new 2019 Ascent in August (150 miles on it). Almost immediately one of the wheels started rattling. Then the car started making a squealing noise followed by lunging forward. Took it to the shop and it needs a new transmission and new struts. Unfortunately, the transmission is on back order for 4 weeks. So frustrated and wish I could return the car!! We've contacted corporate, but have not received a response. My first and last Subaru.
Our 2019 Ascent was squealing and slipping, dealer could not replicate but when they pulled the pan it was full of metal shavings so tranny needs to be replaced, waited two months and still no tranny.
Bought a 20 Subaru Ascent last September. In December ( with 4000 miles) started lunging forward , would take off then go to 1000 rpms the back up to 3000 rpms . Surge squeal and just be horrible to drive. Called dealership, could not get it in for 2 and a half weeks. Many transmission recalls and issues Brought it in , they looked at it and told me I need a new transmission. Will be about a month to get fixed . They would give me a loner in the mean time . No!!! I do not want a brand new 40000 $ car torn apart , and have a replacement transmission put in that probably will go out again!!! This is a real issue with these. Went to dealership and talked to owner. Lucky they bought back the ascent for what I paid for it , and I replaced it with a forester. I’ve owned 4 foresters before and should have bought one instead of the ascent. He said they just had a lady who took her ascent on vacation and got stuck with it 400 miles away!!! Had to tow it back , and replace transmission.in a Month .too bad about the faulty transmissions in the ascent, I really liked it otherwise. Good thing Subaru is a great company who stands by their customers. Just unfortunately ascent has big time transmission issues. Maybe look at a forester if you don’t need all the space
We have a 2019 Subaru Ascent that my husband drives. The dealer replaced the transmission and now there are problems with the new transmission. They (AutoNation) told him that he will have to pay for the second repair himself. He bought an extended warranty but it does not cover the transmission.
wanted someone's take on this. I took my vehicle in to get a recall fixed and complain about about a strange rattle. I then came to find out , the rattle was being caused by the Transmission. This now converts my vehicle into a Lemon at 25,500 K. In order to make this right Subaru would like to replace the Transmission, but this is not enough for me to feel confident that another powertrain issue will not occur; therefore, the vehicle should be replaced with another vehicle to avoid mechanical issues. In further Subaru does not want replace the car. Has anyone ever encountered mechanical issues after the transmission has been replaced ?
