Does the alternator power the transmission on a 2004 t/c minivan?

The alternator provides charging for the electrical system of the vehicle which in turn provides the 12vdc for the vehicle to function properly. The answer is no, it does not directly "power" the transmission, but it does provide the system to charge which allows the sensors and vehicle control module to operate.
