v6 to v8 upgrade also carborated.when i drive the express way the overheating can be tweaked if i dont give the engine gas(stick shift) on cruise is the only time it will drop to regular pressure.i've changed the radiator hose, radiator, theromostat, water pump, none of these are the reasons what could be the problem??

Is the V6 radiator and the V8 radiator the same? if it still has the V6 style radiator it might be too small for the V8 upgrade.

I agree with Michael. Also with the age of that car it might be time to replace the radiator. Years of crude could possibly be stopping it up some not allowing it to cool water properly.
