Question type: Car Customization
I have a camaro RS 305 LO3 and I want to do a
swap and put a 5.7 engine in my car...
but I have a big problem
I have the 5.7 engine but is another junk I think...
The 5.7 engine it's an L65
According to what I found
The L65 have 145 horsepower 250 Lbt
And my LO3 have 170 horsepower 255 Lbt
Y have to dogs
If I do the swap I cant perfomance de engine L65
put imca heads with big valves , 280 roller cam ,
headers
and a 600 holley carb.. And make more
horsepower... but I need to know if it's a good idea
or better I modify the lo3

If this was my car I would look at Chevy factory crate engines. http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/crate-engines
A L98 was an optional engine for your car and is rated at 230hp.
Thank a lot F_O_R And yess that engine comes in the iroc z package I think the best thing I can do is to sell the L48 engine and buy an l98 or an lt1 to do the swap Thank you very much
If someone has another opinion, you can give your opinion if you wish
I want my car for street, but I want it to be fast... for street but fast.. The L65 have a 4 speed manual transmision and the rear end is a 3.42 non posi but I'm going to buy a limited slip as soon as I can.... that camaro is my first car.... and it's also my first project I just want to make sure I do the right thing I'm going to send you the photos of my two engines
Define fast. 10 second fast or 14 second quarter miles?
A stock IROC Z ran the quarter mile in about 15 seconds.
14 second quarter mile I just want something respectable
I put in the post "lo3 vs l48" and it is "lo3 vs l65" sorry for that
