I have a 1987 Chevy Camero with 66,822 miles. The engine cuts out when I slow down to stop. Any ideas?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car shuts off completely when this happens.  We have taken it to a few
mechanics but have had no luck in solving the problem.

The first time it happened I drove for just about 30 minutes. Now it seems to happen regardless of how much time it is driven.

Only stalls in gear. I have tried to reproduce issue and it happens in gear regardless time of year as well.

The car has no power at all. Have to put the car in park then restart.

Wow. Thanks for the suggestion! Does make sense what the mechanic looks for as I remember them saying they couldn’t find any leaks or the like. I’ll keep you updated! Thanks again.
