I HAVE AN 86 CAMERO IT STARTS BUT WONT CRANK HAS GAS

Starts but wont crank? i assume u mean its a stick and u push start it? If thats the case get ur battery checked at ur local parts store. clean ur cable while ur at it. if the battery is good, than ur lookin at a new starter or soleniod. most of the time they come together in a package. last one i did was on an infinity and it only cost 114 for a new one. good luck

Brad im not sure of the right term to use but let me explain briefly what its doing....one morning i went to crank it up to go feed my horse. ok i put the key in turn it and it acts like theres no gas in it it will sit and wing but not fire on up. when you turn the key to the on position you can hear the fuel pump kick on and then go off it is a 6 cylinder automatic im at my wits end had a friend check he says the fuel pump and fuel filter are ok. i honestly thought you need to change the filter in order to know. thanks for any help you maybe able to give me; Krys

could be a ingition problem not fuel pull 2 spark plug wires off sparkplug and check for spark when cranking engine and dont get shocked hold wire close to block with well insulated pliers use should see nice blue spark jump to engine

u should also check ur distributor cap an rotor. it could b so worn down thats its not getting the spark to your plugs. accuallty b4 u do that, get yourself a spark tester to varify that u are getin spark at the plugs. if not then head toward the distributor. inspect plug wires too:) good luck

ignition module if no spark..n..fuel pump relay can affect injection (fuel pump works but injector wonts)
