I could just be that your tires need balancing, and while there have them check if there is any movement in the wheel, just to make sure you don't have any bad ball bearings.

Do you hear increased noise as well?? We had a car cupped tires, that got flattened, caused by bad struts...you have to find out what caused this problem... Tires by themselves don't normally make noise or cause vibration.

Definately check the tires for balance. Also, the fact the vibration goes away when you let off the gas, I'd also check the CV axle or the transfer assembly. (The CR-V doesn't have a transfer case, but it does have a transfer assembly). Check trans has proper fluid level, the trans fluid also lubes the transfer assembly. For sure it is a rotating part making the vibration.

Great suggestions but wheels were recently balanced and alighned, there is a thud when turning up the driveway, therefore it could be that passenger side strut (so both should be replaced). I'll also check all fluid levels as it should vibe checked including the special used in the differential. If it still does that, then I should check the torque converter as I read on this forum that this could be it.

Its your torque converter. Honda said its a common problem. My CRV does it too.

Yes, it could be the torque converter. My 2007 CRV was shuddering around 40 mph. It would shutter in overdrive, but not when I engaged the overdrive off button. My mechanic suggested “shudder fix” from the local car parts store. It did the trick!

My 2005 CRV has the same issue! I have changed the drive shaft and the motor mounts and nothing. I will do the torque converter next and see if it fixes it.

Hey Mario Did the shudder fix help on your car? I have a 2007 crv with the same problem. I live in Denmark though, not knowing if the cars is exactly the same as yours.

Shutter fix is an additive you add to the oil in the transmission. I read that someone had changed the torque converter but that did not solve the problem. The only thing i have heard is working is shutter fix, all though is it not optimal to deviate from Honda specification. I will add shutter fix on mine tomorrow, hope for the best.

Hey all A follow up on my last msg. The shudderfix has worked perfectly. I have now driven about 1000km and still no shudder.

Hey Stefancrv, what aditive did you add to your car transmission? I dont quite know if this is exactly the same situation I have with my car, but is definitely similar to the described on the post comments. Around 40-50mph at constant speed and around 1500 rpm, just keeping the pedal at same level, the car front start shaking, a constant vibration that I can feel on the steering wheel and gas pedal. To get rid of that, I just need to accelerate or lift off my foot a little. If I go back to the speed and rpm it was, it doesn't start vinrating instantly, but after few second it could (sometimes I try to replicate it but it just dont happen, and suddently without expecting it, it happens. Beside that, the gas mileage is around 16/20mpg, and before it start doing that, it was 22/26mpg (City/highway) A friend told me it was definitely injectors, so we changed them. It wasn't. Then maybe spark plugs, neither. I read it could be transmission fluid, Someone said that after changing the the TF 3 times it fixed it, and now you said that the additive fixed it. I would love to know what exactly did you used. Thanks!

Ok, it was the definirte fix to the shudder. Definitely it was the differential. Sadly it didn't fix the bad gas mileage. It seems to be a separated issue.

I had the same vibration and the Honda dealer said it was the torque converter. Used shudder fix and it has been fine for over a week.. how could that fix it? Not complaining just don’t want to have more problems down the road.

I bought a 2007 honda crv and though it didn't have the problem during test drive, it started having the same vibration issue you guys have described an hour into my trip home but I bought it off of CL for 6k so I couldn't return it. The car has 120k miles on it and several mechanics have not been able to solve the problem, so here I am a year later minus another $1500 with a car that I don't drive because it doesn't feel safe. I would like to try shutter fix, do I need to change the transmission fluid before adding it?

When I was exploring the Chinese website, I found an artical said it is the shit material of the friction plate inside the torque convertor. They cut it open and change the plates and welded it back. Hi Senka7 If your transmission fluid is clear and smells normal you do not have to change it, but if it has not been changed for 120k miles then yes it needs to be changed. To get max effect in the torque converter you need to flush it. I added the shudderfix as i knew my fluid was ok, however if it did not work i would flush my gearbox and convertor but it is still working. Good luck

Been having same issue with our 2010 car-v and tried Shudder-Fix today, and it immediately stopped the annoying issue been having between 40-45 mph, appreciate the posts and feedback to try this, has worked like charm so far

I have a Honda CRV Diesel 2014 model, manual transmission. My car shake/shudder between 90 - 110km/h. I've checked the tyre balance. No improvement. If I am not mistaken my honda does not have a torque converter(because it is manual transmission) Any Ideas?

My 2005 has the same issue. Vibration can start at about 42-44 mph. It turns out to be the central drive shaft support is rusting away from the attached metal. There is no good metal to weld to. The entire area is rotten. Too much work & $ to repair this old high mileage vehicle. Bye bye CRV.

i have a repair shop/auto sales in massachsetts we have run into alot of differant shakes vibrations in crv number one is tires worn a little scalloped on edges from allignment or lack of rotating .next would be main driveshaft your mechanic can pull it down to check ujoints they get sticky and also has a carrier bearing on it that goes bad ,transmission fluid change is maintenance and should be done before problems start you should also be changing differetial fluids ,transfer case fluids ,easiest way to rule out tires are use a friends tires to test drive your vehicle

If you change out inline transmission filter it will take away minor shutter but when it's real bad it's converter
