2005 Honda CRV EX AWD feels sluggish as if brakes are dragging

Asked by klrman Nov 12, 2017 at 11:53 PM about the 2005 Honda CR-V EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car feels sluggish.  It is a 2005 Honda CRV EX AWD with 5 speed auto trans.  Feels underpowered in every gear as if the hand brakes are holding it back, but nothing is grabbing so brakes are all fine.  Trans fluid is fine red and not low.  Any ideas

are the front wheel covers dark from brake dust ? there's nothing that pulls the caliper back it only relaxes , scan for codes even if the light ain't on

no, wheels and covers have no dark brake dust or anything like that, but I will pull the wheels one more time just to see if there is any drag there. Last time I pulled them there was no drag.

you just have to see if it will roll in neutral , check air filter , have someone rev the engine and see if a healthy blast of exhaust comes out the tailpipe the catalytic may be clogged , did you scan for codes ?

Our 2005 had same issues. It was the accelerator pedal position sensor, put new one in and problem solved.
