2005 Honda CRV timing Chain problems as well

Asked by zippymunk Jun 18, 2015 at 07:31 PM about the 2005 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Reading through these posts it seems like there is a common thread to the timing chains on the 2006 / 2006 Honda CRV's
after much time and money, my CRV has also had timing chain (yes chain - not Belt) problems. it is in the shop now, after dying in my driveway - I was quoted $1700 to repair. is this a fair price. The tech said he didnt think that any of the valves had been bent, or damaged. If they had been then there will be an additional charge.
is it time to send my loved Honda to the great grave yard.

This is very rare that a chain has issue, but can happen, and this car has a interference engine, meaning if it breaks, or comes loose,90% chance there is head damage.

What exactly is your issue? You say there is a common problem with it, but you didn't clue anyone in.
