Not that I have seen, of course Maintenace is high priority, if poorly maintained that can cause premature failure of the chain, guides and tensioner assemblies not mention other internal engine components.

My 2014 crv has 97000 miles. No major issues until dashboard lights came on. Replaced battery, lights went off, then a week later came on again. Mechanic tried to tell me that that it was burning oil and needed an oil change (despite being 1,000 miles from recommended change). I tried to find out possible source of burning oil and he said "age and wear and tear". We picked up car, turned it on and lights on dashboard still on. Report sows P0341 code along with 85-01, 83-11, 151-11. Now they tell me it might be the timing chain which "could be very expensive". I am good about regular maintenance on this car. I have read that a timing chain problem is rare with under 100,000-110,000 miles. Thoughts?
