Bad Gas Mileage too.

Asked by EveDays Nov 28, 2011 at 11:59 PM about the 2002 Honda CR-V EX AWD

Question type: General

Three weeks ago, I bought an 02 EX 4WD with 124,000 miles and on a Thanksgiving trip, I got 24 mpg averaging 77 mph on the way there using premium gas and 20 mpg on the way back averaging 83 mph using regular gas.  Also on the way back, the wind was very high.  I am wondering what is the reason for the bad gas mileage on the way back? I was wondering if anyone puts premium gas in their CRV and how fast you drive on the highway?  I don't know how high the winds were that day but has it drastically impacted anyone's gas mileage? I think that 4 mpg is pretty drastic.

not being a A$$,but let off the gas peddle, run 65 to 70 mph,but with it being a 4X4,it is not bad milage.
