What does a mechanic do when replacing NOx sensor?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Does the vehicle need to be driven for an extended period to check the NOx
sensor or to replace it? If so, how far would it need to be driven?

Semantics. Did you hear him say NOX sensor or knock sensor? Big difference. NoX is the EGR, Exhaust Gas Re-circulation device that cuts down NoX emissions, Nitrious Oxide (I am not sure on my spelling on all of this) ...then there is knock sensor.. which is a 'sort of' microphone that detects precisely when detention takes place in cylinder. BUT..either one can be read by an OBDII scan, and NO, does NOT take an extended driving time.

Thank you. It was definitely NOx. Took my RV in with 6032 miles (they put 6044) and came out with 6062. 30 miles! Told me driving around was because of diagnostics on NOx and check engine light.
