1995 Lexus IS 400 car starts,drives a few blocks,then shuts off and won't start again for a couple days..help

Sounds like a fuel pump. I would hook up a fuel pressure gauge and let it run until it dies. Should see the pressure begin to drop until the car dies. Then you will know for sure. If that's not the issue, you may have a bad pickup coil in the distributor. When you say won't start, is the engine cranking over and just not firing up? Like it's not getting fuel?

Hi Reelin68. Good info. Lexus was OBDII compliant in 1995, a year before it was mandatory. So a scan might help Dsallis

Thank you will test with fuel pressure gauge. Replaced fuel pump about 18 months ago but gonna check..Thanks again
