I have a 2003 cadilac cts starts but shuts off after about a mile or two won't start back up for about45 minute

Also i noticed it won't pick up a high rate of speed rpm will not go over 3 then boom shut down

What could be the dealer i bought the car from told me it was the camshaft sensor or crank shaft sencor i just bought the car and want to take it out of twon next month can anyone help me
