I just had a major service, oil change, belt check, new spark plugs, etc. and now the check engine light has recently come on.

Hello homeslice_in_atl-- The answer to your question will be revealed when your car gets hooked up to an OBDII computer and it reads whatever code your car is giving off. Maybe some air got into the lines when you got gas last time. Or maybe you have a real problem. I would go back to where you just had the service and let them get you the answer. Good luck from Bovan.
