I have recently purchased a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. It is a rest-mod. It has Shark Bite coil-over-shocks. The coil is adjustable with a "special" wrench. In which direction do I turn the coil to make the ride more comfortable and less "stiff"? Thanks

Question type: Car Customization

My newly purchased 1965 Corvette coupe resto-mod has after-market Shark
Bite suspension elements.  I have a unique pair of wrenches to adjust the coil.
I need to know which direction to adjust the coils for the most comfortable ride
and the least "stiff".  Also which direction to adjust the "stiffness" of the
variable position shocks.   Thanks

make/adjust the spring longer for a soft ride...but read this / go to >http://www.strangeengineering.net/high-performance- street/shocks-struts-springs/coil-over-shocks/6-52-double- adjustable-shock-spring-kit-pr.html and click on PDF instructio download

The shorter the springs, the harder/harsh the ride. Do your adjustments and give it a try. If it is too hard or harsh, go the other way. Write down how many turns and what direction you made the first adjustment so you will know where you started from. My first Corvette was a 1965. Still wish I had it. Nice little 327/300 hp. No air or power windows though.
