1968 Corvette Convertible Top

Asked by ratrod29 Jan 09, 2008 at 11:31 AM about the 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am restoring a '68 Corvette Convertible.  When I purchased the vehicle the side tension cables were removed.  I need to know how to install and connect the side tension cables.  I have looked online but nothing tells me where to connect them.

Thanks,

The '68 convertibles used an hydraulic cylinder top system, IIRC. The side tension cables ran from the 2nd bow back to the arm on what would be the C-pillar of a hardtop. There should be a place to install them. Suggest contacting Hydro-E-Lectric, google for their website. They are very helpful on questions like this. Done a lot of work on Cadillac tops but never did a Vette.

Getting may 68 painted, need to know if the molding on the wiper door needs paint or chrome
