Did a 68 corvett come with a 350 engine ? some say yes others say no !!

NO they did not, the small block for '68 was a 327. And of course there was the big rat motor 427 :-)

Thanks , I don't have the orig. engine then, so there will be no need to look for matching #s I read on here it was supposed to have motors to lift the rag top ,, mine don't so I guess I'm missing that too . but thats ok its not hard to put up at all .

There should be an ID number on the engine block which can be traced to identify where it came from. Most small blocks look alike from the outside.

NO.....it came with a base engine of300HP @10.5 compression ratio.AndL79 optional engine was 350 HP @11.0 Compression ratio.These were both 327 small blocks. Hope this helps you...........Dobermann

Ok thanks , Now i'm sure it was suposed to have a 327 , The previous owners I guess done the swap to the 350 .
