Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Lexus RX300 AC and Heat doors do not change the airflow like maybe a door is stuck. How can I fix
that and how much might it cost to get the air doors working?

Kind of sounds like the actuator motors or servo motors that change the blend doors or the mode doors(where you want the air to blow) might not work anymore.. Do they make a clicking noise as if they may have stripped their plastic teeth or are in-op entirely? It could be fairly expensive, the servo motors aren't terribly expensive but dis-assembly of the lower passenger side of the dash and glove box area is usually required.

Changed the main servo. Overall cost including labor was $354.

If you can see the AIR MIX servo to the left of the glove box and just behind the head unit, you can replace yourself. You will need to remove the glove box and use a stubby philips screw driver. Before you do,get under and listen for the servo. Its the servo that is grinding and clicking. Used servo can be found on ebay for $50, new ones are about $175.
