white smoke at startup from exhust

Is it actually smoke or just water vapor? If the "smoke" goes away as the engine warms up it is probably just water vapor that gets drawn into the engine and exhaust as it cools overnight. If it were indeed white smoke, which is usually the indication of a failed head gasket
