Will the transmission for the RAV4 fit the Lexus Rx300

Asked by cgoody29212 Mar 05, 2012 at 09:20 PM about the 1999 Lexus RX 300 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 RX300 Lexus. The cost for the RX300 transmission is almost as much as what I would pay for the car itself. The cost for the RAV4 transmission is substantually less.

No, the Rav4 transmission will not fit an RX300. The Rav4 is a 4 cylinder engine, where the lexus is a V6, they have different bell housings therefore it would not bolt up. (not to mention they don't share anything other then being all wheel drive).
