2017 RX350 Ipod compatible models

Question type: General

I've recently upgraded by 2004 RX350 to a 2017 RX350.  The owner's manual is
specific in listing which ipod touch generations are compatible.  The list stops
at ipod touch generation 5.  The last generation Apple made for the touch was
6.  I would prefer to purchase an ipod touch generation 6, but if it will not work
using the USB connection in my 2017 RX350, then I will not.  Could you confirm
the ipod touch generation 6 is not compatible and why.  Thank you

To answer my own question, I purchased the ipod gen 6 and it does work.
