premature rusting

Asked by Lexusowner May 03, 2011 at 04:25 PM about the 2009 Lexus RX 350 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm a 2009 rx 350 owner and I'm experiencing premature rusting on the front of the hood. Dealer attributes it to gravel damage but I know different. Any other RX 350 owner experiencing this curious phenomenon? Thanx

My guess is that more people have this problem then they want to admit to. I just bought a 2009 RX350 and the front and the hood had a plastic coat applied to it. The previous owner did not give much of an explanation, but I guess that he must have had bad experience with his previous Lexus.

Its a common problem with Toyotas, but Toyota will never admit it.

Like this? 2009 lexus rx350. Also dash is melting leaving sticky residue. Also moonroof drain got blocked and flooded front passenger floor.

I am a 2013 RX350 owner and I'm experiencing premature rusting with the handles and back door. Dealer repaired backdoor twice within the warranty from 2015-2018, now the backdoor has bubbling under the camera. Lexus dealer asked CAD$3900+tax to repair it:(
