Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I left the dealership after a 230,000 mile tune up, within a mile the Check VSC and Hybrid lights came on during which the vehicle slowed like it was running on an engine that was out of gas. The dealership told me they do not have a towing service and would give me a loaner once I had the RX400h dragged back to their service area. After 24 hours I got a text message that Lexus mechanics do not have a good handle on the problem yet.

High mile cars eventually have serious problems. That yours is a hybrid makes it harder to diagnose.

After the vehicle sat at the dealership over the weekend it was determined that the clogged "rails" of the fuel injection system were the only cause for the system to give the codes of Check VSC and Check Hybrid. i was told it was 5 hours of labor and the vehicle is back on the road. They did fill the fuel tank, Not disappointed, just sorry that it did not happen while they were doing the test drive 5 miles prior to my leaving the dealership. Actually it may have been running on batteries only when I left. I was told it could only go a mile in that instance. Also said that clogged fuel system is not something that is a maintenance check .
