We have a 2006 Lexus 400H. The Passenger Airbag Light seems to be stuck on "off", when some one sits in the passenger seat. Do you have any suggestions?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While I was sitting in the passenger seat, I put the seat back to rest during a recent drive.
When I put the seat upright, the passenger airbag light showed that the airbags were "off.
We followed the instructions in the owner's manual to reset the light but it still is on.
Could a fuse be burned out?

Could be the sensor in the seat not 'knowing' it's occupied. Air bag issues are best dealt with at the Dealer..I don't always recommend dealers for everything but Air bags are nothing to fool around with, best left to professionals trained in them

Just curious, but is the seat belt buckled? If someone is in the seat and the belt is not buckled, it will show as off.
