My 2008 400h doesn't go to the ready light upon first trying key turn.

All of a sudden, the key won't turn on the car on first try.  Instead, it goes on
accessory.  So, when I get in, turn key and put the car in reverse, I am shocked to
see the car isn't even on.  When I turn the key a second time, it will start.  This is
an intermittent problem.

I just started having this same problem with my 2007 rx400h. I took it to the dealer and they are telling me it needs a new engine battery. I am skeptical. But I'll give it a go and see if it will solve the issue. If I remember, I'll report back.
