How can I remedy the problem of opening the doors when the remote won't work?

Asked by Lexi2x Jul 20, 2021 at 09:12 PM about the 2002 Lexus SC 430 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The remote for my 2002 Lexus SC430 would not unlock the doors today.  A new
battery for the remote was replaced a month ago.  How can this be fixed?  Is it
a fuse?

En route to get new batteries for the remotes, I noticed both worked as normal. The remote issue happened after leaving the car in the heat for a couple of hours, however garaging it overnight, the problem was gone. I am inclined the problem resolved itself after cooling off. WHY?

Extreme heat can cause problems. The car is also 20 years old and electrical contacts and electronics eventually go bad.
