Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1981 vett vibrates when running and when driven down the road. I
disconnected the torque converter from the flywheel (350 turbo trans and 350
engine) and started the engine and vibration is gone. Could the torque
converter be bad or something else in the transmission?

Could be torque converter or bent flywheel. Start vehicle and take a look at the flywheel as it is spinning make sure it is spinning straight.

Has the Vette always vibrated since you have owner it? Could be torque converter, cracked flexplate, missing balance weight or even a bad transmission mount.
