I have a  1985 corvette limited edition with the 7 speed transmission over drive. New cam shaft with lifters. The engine was rebuilded 9 years ago, now the engine has about 15,000 miles now, so the odameter reads 165,000. New tirers, alternater 6 months old, starter 1 year old, red top interstate battery. Really ? A 7 speed tranny ? I looked around and could not find any 85 vettes with a 7 speed tranny , i couldn't even find a 7 speed tranny except in a new mercedes. i've seen other 85 vettes going for 6500 - 9500 in stock condition . being your car sounds like it was modified maybe less. to compare prices check out www.usedcorvettesforsale.com

$ These Corvettes were the new C-4s that came with low power, bad mileage, heavy smog and tons of mechanical issues. $5,000 tops.

the 1985 vette beat the Porsche 938 and porsche redesigned their cars to correct that. but keep in mind the corvette has been affordable for americans.
