Do I need to have the cooling fan relay switch?

NO not wise.Especially since it's hot all year round, you need the fan; And that image does not look like a relay to me. A relay plugs in to fuse/Power Distribution box. What is that image?
Ok. You are right, that is indeed a relay for the fan, my bad.... http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-engine-cooling-fan-relay-1988-1994.html
You took my question wrong. I live in hot weather all year round, I am bypassing this relay switch so that my fan will run upon starting the engine ALL THE TIME. This is what I meant by my question; sorry for confusion. Can anyone tell me how to check if this relay switch went bad? Any test I can perform maybe with an electrical tester? And if so; do I test all 5 prongs?
Ok.I did take it wrong. Sorry 'bout that. But no matter how hot you don't need fan anytime you get to 40mph or so makes the fan useless and redundant, there is more than enough air-flow at 35+mph that the fan will produce anyway. But the relay is only maybe $20 - $25. personally I wouldn't mess with testing and just buy a new one. Good Luck.. ~~David
I've done a lot of research and there's a lot of Vette owners in the C4 arena that say they've bypassed and their engines run cooler as they tend to get on the hot side.. Saves the engine in my opinion. Thanks!
