Can't unlock door when battery is dead

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hi, my 2006 Camry's battery is dead and now my remote doesn't work.
And it turns out that they key can't be used to open the doors. The key can
only be used to open the trunk.
Is there an easy way to fold the rear sit from the trunk? Or how can I open the
hood so I can replace the car battery. Why would the key not work with the
doors?
It is crazy that the key doesn't work with the door.

If there happens to be a 12 volt accessory outlet located in the trunk, you might be able to apply voltage to the electrical system long enough to click the locks open with the remote. Just remember polarity. The center post will be positive and the outer shell is negative or ground. Good Luck
My wife's key works with the doors. Why 1 key works and 1 doesn't is insane. Should have tried it sooner, could have saved me hours and the stress.
many cars have one master key that operates everything and one valet key that will not open all locks. Try both to be sure what you have. I found this out when my key wouldn't open anything but driver's side door and ignition switch. Also the master could lock the trunk which could then be unlocked only by the master and not the trunk button. Good to have - IF you know
How can open top trunk to get battery feeding
My 2004 Camry will not unlock with either of the key fobs or keys. I have tried both to the keys in each of the doors and the trunk. I also changed the batteries in the key fobs. still nothing. I assume the battery is dead but I am stumped by the keys not working in any of the locks. any suggestions?

Find out how to steal the stupid things
I have a 2004 Camry that had a dead battery. Apparently I locked the car & then took out the battery, & closed the hood. Battery got tested. Bad battery, purchased a new battery but when I went to put it in, the car was locked, hood locked. Tried everything I could think of, short of prying open the top of the door & trying to unlock that way. Lots of trial & error but I found out that if you put 1 key in the trunk & the other key in the drivers door, it unlocks the door. You may have to switch the keys to get it to work. Not sure if the spare key went to the trunk or vice/versa. You do need 2 keys.
First I would try all the key that you have. The master key should work on the driver's door and trunk. You can find step by step instructions here: https://www.youcanic.com/vehicle/toyota/emergency-unlock
