^exactally, the Crosstrek's only come with a CVT trans which uses a belt and adjustable pullys, there are no gears, they are not meant to be coupled to a high powered engine also the 2.0L engine in that car is rather new and there is not much in the way of performance parts or mods for that car yet. Either you can do the typical intake and exhaust and wait for more things to come out or trade up for a faster more powerfull car.

There is a 5-speed manual transmission available in the Crosstrek XV, helps make the car a little more zippy. I have a 5-speed manual Impreza with the 2.0L and it is fun. You might want to check the aftermarket tuners.

Always think "more air in, & more exhaust gases out" for more performance. A high flow air intake with K & N filter will help it breathe more, & with a bigger dia, pipe(s) "cat back" exhaust system will help too. Look into a Flow Master" exhaust system for your car, it'll flow better & sound good too. If you want add tube headers too. An exhaust shop can do everything.

Stick with EOM air filter. It is not a performance limiter or restriction. I was involved with dyno tests. Could not notice a difference beyond the accuracy of the dyno. First and foremost is the engine control programming. Look into what can be done there. Check aftermarket tuners.

There is no way around 148 hp for a car of this weight, with AWD. It simply needs more oomph. Of course it is a Subaru, and that is great. However, for those of you saying "I don't need the extra power" you are just kidding yourself or settling for less. Much less. Why do you need to do that in a car that could be spectacular?
