Ford Explorer 1994 Hood is STUCK DOWN

Asked by Broken_Explorer Aug 11, 2016 at 09:16 PM about the 1994 Ford Explorer 2 Dr Sport SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The cable IS NOT BROKEN, I slammed the hood and is now stuck. Again,
cable is fine, ITS STUCK, i tried opening it manually with an allen wrench and
that was 100% ineffective, might have even made it worse.

Remove grille, see 2 10mms bolts on lock assembly. Mark position of lock assembly and then remove the bolts. Hood will open. Examine under hood area for parts or tools left under hood. ALSO be sure hood prop is in proper position. Any of the above will keep lock from releasing. Hope this helps.
