Is it a sudden change in direction or just a gradual one? have you had your ball joints and tie rod ends checked?

Its never a good idea to just start throwing parts at the car, I highly doubt that your control arms need to be replaced unless you hit something. The bushings however probably need to be replaced judging by the miles along with your ball joints and tie rod ends if they havent been replaced in the past 60 or 100 thousand miles. One other thing when you turn the steering wheel does it take a lot of movement for the wheels to start turning after the wheel is turned or is it pretty immediate?
