What other engine could I put in my chevy colorada Xtreme 2006

you can go with a 2.8L that was also available for that model truck, but I think maybe you are asking to install something larger with more HP? That would be all custom. Check out some online Colorado forums to find out other truck owners that did a swap. Cost of the engine, trans, driveshaft, exhaust, mounts, ECM, wiring harness, and other misc parts, plus labor if you aren't doing all the work. I would say you will be spending $5K on the low end if you find used parts to 10K when your all said and done.
2010 to 12 there was a V8 version. In theory you might be able to install a 5.3 V8 but you would be better off selling yours and buying a V8 truck.
In 2007 the I5 got a boost of 22 hp. Again in theory you could upgrade to a newer engine for a bit more power. Again it is not worth the trouble.
