94 ford ranger

Asked by Zuganator Mar 17, 2016 at 03:38 PM about the 1994 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 94 ranger v6 4.0 I got for 247.00, I'm
replacing the flywheel and noticed the spark plugs
have oil on the threads. I haven't been able to start
it due to the flywheel being broken really bad.
Should I just buy a new engine and trans?

the issues caused by the malfunctioning motor could be piston rings which wear the pot bore out, this motor will have to be replaced or reconditioned, your local automobile shop could do the work for a good $1500

Trans might be bad. I have the torque converter on it and when I spin it if it's rubbing on the wall a bit and it's not snug on the shaft on the transmission it kind of wobbles back and forth little bit I'm not sure if it's the transmission or the torque converter
