Violent Shaking in Front End

Asked by Sharon Jun 20, 2016 at 08:37 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In the past 6 months I've begun having violent
shaking in the front end of my 2004 Malibu Maxx.
Ten months ago I had my rotors turned and new
brake pads installed. One day whole traveling
downhill at approximately 60 kph I applied my
brakes and thought I was going to lose the car.
Problem continues to this day when at speeds of
55 and above when braking. I'm at a loss. My car
has 52,000 miles on it. Any solutions?

Thank you for your reply, Tom. When the rotors were turned there was only a slight pulsing; nothing like this. I'll have your suggestions checked out. Thanks again!
