Quick Wheel Question

Asked by xCDSx Apr 07, 2015 at 05:07 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LTZ FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am thinking about putting a couple
layers of rubberized undercoat on my
wheel wells, but I have never taken
my tires off on my own before. Is
there anything to be especially
careful of when taking car tires off
and on? Any tips would help, I just
don't want an uneven ride, or
messed up tightnesses afterwards.
Thanks.

Make sure to start loosening the lug nuts before you jack up the car. Also set ebrake and put a block behind the rear wheels.

Anything about putting 'em back on to be careful about? I know you tighten in a star pattern, but don't don't know much else.
